Fate Raised Her To Fame - and killed the man she loved !
Esther Blodgett is a naďve rural ingénue trying to break into the movies. While serving guests at a Hollywood party, she is “discovered” by alcoholic star Norman Maine who gives her a screen test, and ensnares her in the Hollywood star making machine. She foolishly weds her idol, Norman, but his star soon fades into darkness. The film captures the ruthless cynicism of the Hollywood apparatus.
