Movie details

This Technicolor musical is loosely based upon the life of composer Jerome Kern. The film tells of Kern’s struggles to break into writing songs for Broadway, his moving to London for the sake of his work and his eventual triumph on Broadway as the composer of one of the biggest musicals ever, “Show Boat”. Featured performances include Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Dinah Shore, Van Johnson, Cyd Charisse, Lena Horne, June Allyson, and other star legends.
